2024 String Award

Jonathan You attends Easton Area High School as a senior. Jonathan studied viola for eight years with the past two years under the tutelage of Mary Ann Saylor.

Since 9th grade, Jonathan sat as first chair or principal violist at Easton Area High School, and he now serves as orchestra President. He also performs as a valued member of the school’s chamber string ensemble. 

He also applies his exceptional musical talents in the following extracurricular achievements by successfully auditioning for the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 10, Northeast Region, and All State Orchestras; and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) All Eastern Orchestra in 2023. He also performed at Musikfest 2023.

He also won First Place in the Friends of Music of Bethlehem Outstanding Young Artist Award in 2023.

Recently accepted and committed through restrictive early action at Stanford University, Jonathan plans on continuing his Viola studies with orchestra ensembles at Stanford University and intends to double major in computer science and music performance.
