Dr. Albert Hofammann Piano Scholarship

The Allentown Music Club is happy to announce that they will, once again, award $1,000 to the recipient of the “Dr. Albert Hofammann Scholarship or Young Pianist” competition which will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, starting at 5 pm, at #AsburyLV (Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, Allentown, PA 18104 – Please do not contact the church about this Scholarship).

Auditions will be scheduled with qualified applicants.

No ‘Walk-in Auditions’ permitted.

Asbury UMC is following recommended COVID-19 Protocols.  As such, Masks are not currently required but we ask for respect and tolerance for any and all who may choose to mask and socially distance from others. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

The prize of $1,000 is to be used to continue the study of piano performance. Applicants must be serious piano students who attend high school, grades 9 through 12, in either Lehigh or Northampton County. Each applicant shall perform two selections, no longer than 15 minutes in total, from memory. The selections shall be from any of the four musical periods: Baroque; Classical; Romantic; or Modern. 

The winner must perform their pieces for the Allentown Music Club during the Saturday, April 5, 2025 meeting from 2-4 pm at Asbury United Methodist Church
