Past Presidents Assembly (PPA) of the

Memorial Scholarship for 2024

REQUIREMENTS

1. High School Seniors who plan to study music performance next year in a college, university, or music conservatory are eligible. Students of music education or music therapy are not eligible. Proof of acceptance to a proper educational institution is required. The prize is $1,500.

2. Applicants must be a student of a high school in Lehigh or Northampton Counties.

3. Students must submit an unedited video showing a clear view of the applicant performing at least two contrasting pieces. The recording can be uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo or saved in cloud as MP4 to Dropbox, iCloud, etc. Email the link to Chairman. Instrumentalists should perform their two pieces from two different musical periods, such as: Baroque, Classical, Romantic, or Modern. Singers should perform two pieces in two different languages, and one of them can be English.

4. A brief written description of the student’s life goals as a professional musician must accompany the application and recording.

5. The deadline for submitting applications is Saturday, April 15, 2024.

6. The winner is required to perform their pieces for the Allentown Music Club at Asbury United Methodist Church, Allentown, PA on Saturday, May 4, 2024,  at 2 PM. Failure to perform will forfeit the prize of $1,500.
