2019 Winner of Dr. Albert Hofammann Scholarship for Young Pianists


Brennen Van Helmondt, a freshman at Saucon Valley High School, currently studies piano with Jonathan Beitler and previously studied with Lori Huth. 

Starting piano at a young age, Brennen consistently earned highest ratings as an International Member of the National Piano Guild Auditions, the Dorothy Sutton Performance Festivals, and Achievement Award Auditions. In addition to multiple recitals, Brennen performed at Musikfest and continues to perform at local nursing homes. For the past six years, he has been a member and held offices with the Young Musicians of the Allentown Music Club.

Besides music, Brennen is a member of the Saucon Valley High School Swim Team having advanced to Districts in the 100m breast stroke. He is also a member of the Tennis and Scholastic Scrimmage Teams. He enjoys cooking, fostering cats, and hiking with his family and dogs.

Brennen danced and jumped for joy at Wegman’s upon hearing he won the Dr. Albert Hofammann Scholarship awarded by the Allentown Music Club and plans on using $1,000 scholarship to continue his study of piano performance.
